Friendly coworkers, changing task every hour, not something you go home worrying about. FT employees also have insurance options. Management is fair. The children's department has a separate manager from the adult department. However, if it comes to patron v.s. employee, the managers are very good about sticking up for you.

low pay (CALS starts clerks at 10.50), not all patrons are strange, but you must be comfortable talking to people who are different. Vague and confusing ramblings on time travel and government conspiracy have been used as serious pick up lines on the girls who work here. We've also had to call the police on occasion. Most people are nice, but you do get some interesting questions.
