Pros

Nice coworkers. Many of them are super talented and educated folks with a lot to offer this company but they are almost never emboldened to do so.

Cons

Submissive staff that is pressured into making a lot of bad decisions under the hawkish oversight of "boot to neck" upper management. These upper management individuals are unanimously out of touch with the marketplace the business is serving. Just take one look at most of the promotional materials and food menus. Dated food, dated design, dated business practices. Mediocrity is the soup du jour every single day. And staff are sadly asked to snuff out negative reviews on various sites. Which also means low ethical standards. It explains the streaks of positive reviews that appear on sites like this one every once in a while. I'm troubled about my future here.

Pros

Lancer Hospitality did an amazing job placing passionate individuals in their positions without limiting other possibilities within the company. The leadership supported and encouraged professional development on a level I’ve never experienced since.

Cons

The culture of Lancer Hospitality changed when bought by parent company Elior. I’m sure Elior has their strengths that make them the successful company that they are, but I miss what Lancer used to be.

Pros

The pay for hourly tipped employees at every property under the Lancer umbrella seems to be outstanding relative to the level of experience required.

Cons

Management at the regional level and beyond (in my region) will work you to the bone if you have the ability to tolerate it. I don't think this is necessarily exclusive to Lancer though. It is hard for management and ownership to find dependable people who are passionate in this industry, and when they do they certainly capitalize on it.
