Pros
• atmosphere: the teaching staff is top-notch - all good people who are willing to share their knowledge and help new-comers adjust to the schedule. • management: the director and the program coordinator provide support whenever needed. They also supply teaching materials, lesson plans and exercises to supplement those lesson plans. If as a teacher you feel stuck or feel your students are less responsive than anticipated, the program coordinator will go above and beyond to help you get your class back on track. • communication: the program coordinator informs her staff of any changes as soon as that information becomes available. • students: must of the students (of course, there are a few exceptions) are there to have fun and learn. • the program: the lesson plans and teaching schedules are pretty well set and all tests for students are complete. This greatly reduces prep time. • breaks: there are 15 minute breaks between classes.
Cons
• pay: it's low but comparable to (and in many cases better than) competing ESL schools. • class schedules are consistent from term to term but they depend on enrollment. When enrollment is low, classes are cut - sometimes without much notice. In those rare cases, the program coordinator typically does her best to assign subbing hours.
