Such a tacky company - Anonymous employee Lark Employee Review

Working at Lark ultimately feels like a high school lunchroom. If you can drink the kool aid, suck up to leadership, and have the personality of a piece of dried cornbread you’ll fit right in. It is so incredibly clicky it is VERY hard to be comfortable. I constantly got comments from my team about my age and how young I am during almost every meeting I joined. It was clear that I was never going to be taken seriously by the people on my team. I was on a team of all women (great!), all were mothers (amazing!), but at the beginning of every team meeting the starting topic was always breastfeeding?? I think that’s amazing that they feel like their culture supports motherhood but if I talked about my breasts that much during a meeting it would be FROWNED upon. Maybe the culture is a little too casual? Also shows that many of these employees don’t have a personal life outside of their work. Management training on all levels would be beneficial for this company. The management is so dense they are not able to take ideas and criticism from their teams. Leadership is completely narcissistic and will take entire meetings to only talk about themselves, not anything productive for their employees or the company. Constant canceling of 1on1 meetings, lack of training, avoiding questions and messages from someone you’re supposed to be mentoring is giving uneducated and unable to change. I received almost no training or mentorship from anyone on my team. I had no idea what my role was. I would come to meetings with questions and ideas, but my manager would rather nitpick my schedule and then end the meeting. The lack of development, professionalism, organization, and respect will ultimately lead them to fail. Did I even mention the frequent layoffs? I could go on and on. I would come work here if you want your career to die.
