Pros

Actual colleagues are impressively amicable, respectful, and good to work with. Good job advancement opportunities, even when you're starting out in an administrative/support role.

Cons

Absolutely terrible benefits, especially in terms of PTO. President's Day and Columbus Day not offered. No sick time, just a total for vacation and sick which is enough for either sick or vacation but not both. No floating holidays. And no working from home for hourly employees, even when most of the work is being done electronically and you're spending literally 7 out of 7.5 hours working completely alone and in silence. Won't even compensate for the full amount of a monthly public transportation pass.

Pros

Not many positives to report about this once very fine firm. The firm is losing lawyers regularly despite a few bolt-on acquisitions/mergers. Recently, the entire Springfield, Mo partnership left in mass for another firm. Over the last 18 months or so L&G has lost close to 100 lawyers. Once close to 350 strong, the firm is down to less than 250. If you take a job there, whether as an attorney or as support staff, consider it a short-term gig and keep looking while you work .

Cons

As noted, the firm continues to lose lawyers. Revenues have been declining year over year for the last 3-4 years. The new managing partner, Garrison, would likely try to claim that per partner profitability is up, but they exclude "fixed income" partners when making this reported claim. It is a very misleading calculations. Long term clients have left and continue to leave at an alarming rate.
