Pros

Surrounded by very knowledgeable colleagues, and given a lot of freedom to solve the challenges encountered while doing something totally new. The work stays fresh as well, due to the high rate of innovation in the field. The atmosphere is very relaxed, and it's simply a lot of fun to just work there.

Cons

It's a startup, so it can be highly iterative while testing ideas. If you don't like months of work been thrown away every now and then, or features which you are attached to disappearing from one build to the next then that might be disconcerting for you

Pros

team lunches, beers in the fridge and the fact it's in amsterdam city centre

Cons

this company is really badly mismanaged, the upper management lack vision and the CTO at Layar is believed to be autistic by a large portion of the team. you often feel like there is no real structure in place at layar since they're still in that startup vibe, even though they've been around for quite a while now. It feels like a bunch of high school kids trying to do cool stuff. Not many 'veteran' or experienced employees walking around who can help you. If you're a rookie I'd recommend looking elsewhere since you won't be able to get a lot of training/support.
