Pros

I was given a starting salary of 11, most people get 10. Which isn't bad. The people you meet are interesting. (some are CREEPY and terrible as discussed in cons) 25% discount off merchandise (except their merchandise is all overpriced already woops) TONS of hours if you need them. Don't need much/any experience VERY easy to get a job here they are desperate bc they have high turnover. You can make commission. (But then they might refuse to pay it to you :))

Cons

Sexual harassment by customers, which is treated as a norm by other employees and management. You literally do not know your weekly schedule until Sunday at 8 PM. You will not know until Sunday whether you are working THE VERY NEXT DAY. No time off. No time for friends/family. Want to plan a doctor's appt? Good luck! Your schedule will be erratic and terrible. If you DO get time off they might schedule you for that time anyways. You could be working TOTALLY alone for 15 hours straight. No breaks at ALL. If you're lucky it will be slow so you can eat. (What can you eat? At my location there wasn't even a fridge for employees to put food... And you can't order delivery!) No health benefits. Management is not trained at all in how to actually manage anyone or a store. Oh and also they will refuse to pay you commission for the month you quit and totally screw you over. You will often work the night shift until midnight, then have to wake up at 8 am to do it all over again. No respect for workers. VERY dishonest practices. (Not telling customers about discounts, flat out lying about products....) Sick? You have to call 3 hours before your shift to tell them. Even if your shift starts at 9:30 AM. Because I/ the managers are up at 6 AM....? You have arbitrary sales goals and the only people who get bonuses are managers because they assign themselves to the best time slots to get bonus. This job is terrible. I read these and I was like it can't be that bad. IT CAN BE. And WORSE. I have no clue how they continue to operate. In any other state this would be completely illegal.

If you truly feel this way, then why have you reapplied on 11/11/14 stating: " I was employed at Le Tache over the summer. Unfortunately, due to school and another job, I had to quit. However, I was wondering if you folks were in need of any temporary employees during the holiday season. If so, would you be interested in re-hiring me for the winter season, with the possibility (if you would like) of continued employment again, since I am taking much fewer classes next semester. Thanks, and take care! " It was not hard to figure out who left this review. It does not sound like your working experience at Le Tache was that bad at all, as you stated in your Glassdoor review. Your interest in re-working at this company will be taken into consideration along with the hundreds of other applications I have to look at. Phil-GM

Le Tache Response

Your feedback is appreciated. We are currently attempting a few different things with the schedule to break up some of those long days. It is not easy because there are some of the associates that work in the area you worked at and drive pretty far, so it is easier on their commute to do the doubles and off the next day. You were always a positive person to talk to and a great individual to have on staff.

Pros

Recently Le Tache has added new items for their employees to sell, letting us making more money and boosting sales. When you are in the store by yourself, you take care of the store. YOU are representing Le Tache, and you are what customers see on a daily bases. Yes, there are rules, but what job doesn't have rules? They reward everyone now that sells commissioned items and praise the top sellers each month, ASK QUESTIONS to senior management they are there to help you and want you to do well. Honestly, if the owner ever wants to start Franchising Le Tache around the country, I would definitely start up a Le Tache in other states to keep the name alive and the keep their values around the country, it's a great company and I would love to see it grow.

Cons

Yes, the long hours take some getting used to, and yes their are no "scheduled" breaks, but you do have some down time that pretty much add up to an hour each day. You are held responsible for everything that happens during your shift, sales, cleaning, customers. If you aren't very good at selling and talking to customers and knowing how to up sell, you most likely won't last too long at Le Tache, the management will try their hardest to give you skills you need to perform better and will give you advice, but if you don't at least try, it shows.
