Asking new hires to provide reviews is against glassdoor terms of use - Anonymous League Employee Review

Pros

There is a coffee chat for new hires to get to meet other employees in the company. This process is optional and you can use a slack channel to select random employees to meet for brief introductions. This is a great way to meet people in other teams but can lead to anxiety if you are the antisocial type.

Cons

There is a relatively long checklist of tasks for new hires as part of the onboarding process and this includes providing reviews on glassdoor. Every current and former Leaguer knows about this process and some have even posted about this practice in previous posts, with HR responding with the usual generic damage control rhetoric. This practice is against clause 5.2 of glassdoor's terms of use, which prohibits coercing employees to submit content. I believe that by making this a part of the onboarding process, new hires are being influenced to provide feedback in their honeymoon phase with the company, which then becomes contradictory later along their tenure when reality sets in and they have to come back to tell a different story here. League should stop this practice and new hires should give a neutral opinion with a disclaimer if they have to.

Thanks for your feedback and suggestion. We are sorry to hear about your negative experience with League's onboarding. We have never coerced employees to submit content and all feedback received from employees has been entirely voluntary. Near the end of 2022, League made revisions to it's onboarding process and checklist, including removing the prompt for feedback via Glassdoor. As before, employees continue to submit feedback voluntarily. We would love to learn more and hear suggestions! If you’re open to sharing any other details about your experience, please reach out to us at people@league.com.
