What's behind the curtain? - Commodity LeapFrog Systems Employee Review

Pros

Most people are nice as far as not insulting you directly or not meaning to; most people. Some people will actually insult you directly. They are really good at taking people out to lunch and it seems to be what they know how to do.

Cons

The majority of the company has no clue about the business world today and real needs in ever changing digital spaces. The curtain from the title of this review, is the main office space. It's a very impressive office space overlooking most of Boston. Unfortunately I don't think they rely on much more than that for anything. It makes them have the appearance of success but that's far from the truth. The sales team is clueless and the executive team is even worse. They're really good at taking people out to lunch. This company will shut its doors soon enough and they would be smart to try to sell the company now, but I don't think they have the intelligence to pull that off. They treat employees like commodities and have a hands off approach to everything, except taking people to lunch.

Pros

Very easy to get hired.

Cons

This is just a staffing agency and a bad one at that. Let's not insult "real" consulting companies by calling it that. They have some recent college grads searching LinkedIn for anyone with a pulse and key words on their profiles. They lie to candidates hiring them as "full time employees" but if your project ends and you hit the bench you are unceremoniously fired! If you are lucky enough to land another project but the client wants a lower rate, they ask you to lower your salary; that is NOT consulting! All management cares about is making the most money (margin) off the heads of the people in the field. There is absolutely no career growth because it's not a real company. As for so called "account management", that is non-existent as well. They have some past relationships with a few people who buy from them and have been able to survive with one anchor account but that is it. There is no way they will ever really grow. They lied to some real "account managers" pretending that they wanted to hire them to manage some large client relationships, manage staff at these accounts, provide delivery oversight and work with marketing (which also doesn't exist along with HR), etc. to grow additional business but come to find out they were just looking to tap into their network thinking it would be some quick money. There is no unique value proposition so why would clients buy services from you? Don't lie to people, where they think they are being hired to manage existing accounts and then change the story and tell them their job is to hunt new accounts!
