Pros
About the only thing good is the pay. Silicon Valley workers obviously deserve more than the paper money. We also expect stock, but this company actually does not deliver on that. There's all this talk about BONUS. Don't hold your breath too long for that either because this place is extremely political. On my first day, I was told LeEco has gold medical coverage by the HR. This is absolutely not true. The company is cheap and gives you one of the basement health care coverage that hardly covers any of the top physicians or medical practices. If your wife or child gets sick, expect to pay out of your own pocket. About the only thing good about this company is it makes "cliche me too" category of phones and TVs. LeEco tries to copy everything Apple does, but it does so extremely poorly.
Cons
A few months into the job you start to realize that the job you interviewed for is not the job you have. It is also possible the person you interviewed with and possibly liked is not the person you are going to be working for. They will also ask you to do things that were not in the job requirement. Additionally, no one really knows what's going on with the products. The Chinese part of the company and the American part of the company don' t communicate well. I am not alone in saying there is very little work life balance at LeEco. I know many colleagues who are looking for a way out. The products are all rip offs from companies like Apple and Samsung. There is very little that LeEco actually makes in China, instead preferring to put their logo on products purchased from suppliers in China. The LeEco TVs are buggy, and the phones are as well. Then there is the founder and management who are extremely delusional into thinking they are Apple. The whole idea of selling products at cheap prices in the US market is not disruptive at all. Ripping off Apple's trade secrets is also a common theme. Innovation is not integral to LeEco's brand character. Simply putting your logo onto products without coming up with ideas that actually help people is not innovation. This company sells products in China and some phones in India. Presently, I do not see it as a powerful player in the USA. They have yet to sell a single product in the USA. The product management team also doesn't convey any confidence that this is a company that is unique and has the strength to make a difference in the American marketplace.
