Pros

LegalZoom was one of the most interesting places I have worked in terms of people, their interests and talents and overall intelligence.

Cons

LegalZoom’s leadership is disjointed, disconnected and confused. There are so many wonderful employees and talent that gets wasted by irresponsible layoffs and poor management. The company has yet to figure out its own identity, which is reflected in the “start up” like structure and fluctuating stock prices. There have been layoffs, C-team leadership changes and constant quick pivots year over year.

Work life balance is actually great. The people you work with are smart and generally fun to work with

Roadmap is very disorganized, you kind of have to assume you will work on any random project each day

Good benefits and good culture

Cons

Very AI focused with constant fear of layoffs by employees (based on my experience). Pay isn’t great, especially given the current cost of living. Poor communication and planning regarding updates and project rollouts.
