Loan Officer - Loan Officer LenderFI Employee Review

Pros

Loose work environment. Nice coworkers. They have a mini basketball hoop and pool table in the office. (I quite frankly didn't go to work to play, but to each their own). Loan officers and loan officer assistants work hard and care about each other. The hardships you will go through there will teach you a lot. If you're motivated they will pay for licensing in other states.

Cons

Low morale amongst LO's and LOA's. Paychecks for LO's and LOA's are usually short and pay plans benefit the company. It's like working at a casino where the house always wins. They control when loans close so you will go from 40bps to 20bps and lose half your paycheck for the same amount of work. If you have a pipeline, they wait to close until the 1st or after so you will lose half of your pay while they make the same amount on the loan. They hold competitions with prizes to be awarded; then when the time comes to pay out the prizes, they forget and the day never comes; or they say it went to pay them back for something. Multiple times in less than a year it has happened to people. I won $1000 for locking loans while another won $750, neither of us saw the bonus. The turn over is high and the handful of long term guys are mistreated pretty regularly. Just ask them. They'll tell you.

Pros

I have to say that the only good thing about LenderFi is that working there made me appreciate the last company i worked for.

Cons

Working at LenderFi was a strange experience. I found that their was a lot of nepotism. If you weren't a friend or related to the owner of the company expect your suggestions and ideas to be ignored. I found that there was a "do as I say not as I do" culture in the work environment. I feel staff was laid off in order to keep friends and family on the payroll. The entire sales force was laid off. How does one expect to keep a company afloat when you cut off the means of income? I don't feel there was an appreciation for the workforce. I felt that we had to pull teeth to get our pay checks and when they were handed out it was with a sense of disdain from management as if his employees were a necessary evil. Almost as if no matter how hard we worked...we didn't deserve to be paid. I agree with the other reviewers regarding lack of days off, and zero paid holiday and sick pay. There is no long term plans for the company. They just tread water.
