I joined Lennar with high hopes, eager to contribute to a reputed company in the real estate industry. However, my experience at Lennar has been extremely disappointing, largely due to the leadership of Scott S., who is at the helm of the ship (and from what I hear was terminated from his last position at Tyson Foods). My time at the company has made it clear that there are serious issues that hinder professional growth and overall satisfaction. I have concerns about the future of the company due to the use of questionable and potentially detrimental business practices. Lack of Vision and Direction: One of the biggest problems at Lennar is the complete lack of a coherent vision and direction for the company. Scott's leadership seems to be focused more on short-term gains rather than long-term sustainability and growth. This shortsightedness trickles down to all levels of the organization, creating a chaotic and uncertain work environment. Communication Breakdown: Communication within Lennar is abysmal. The lack of transparency, combined with his inability to effectively communicate with his teams, leads to confusion, frustration, and wasted effort. Important decisions are often made without clear rationale, leaving employees in the dark. Inconsistent Leadership: Scott's leadership style is inconsistent, which creates an unsettling atmosphere for employees. He seems to be guided by mood swings and personal preferences rather than an objective and fair approach. This inconsistency has a demoralizing effect on the team. Toxic Work Culture: The work culture at Lennar can be described as toxic at best. There's a culture of fear and favoritism where employees feel hesitant to speak their minds or address concerns openly. This fear of repercussions has a detrimental effect on team morale and creativity. Work-Life Balance: The management style also neglects the importance of work-life balance. Expectations are set unrealistically high, leading to burnout and high turnover among employees. There is little appreciation for the value of a healthy work-life balance, which is essential for overall job satisfaction. Limited Opportunities for Advancement: Career growth within Lennar is often stymied by Scott's preference for a select few. Promotions and opportunities for advancement are not based on merit, but rather on personal connections and favoritism. This leads to frustration and disillusionment among employees who feel their hard work goes unnoticed. In conclusion, my experience at Lennar has been deeply disheartening due almost entirely to the leadership of Scott. His management style has created a turbulent and demotivating work environment, where it is challenging to thrive and find job satisfaction. It is my sincere hope that Lennar addresses these leadership issues and takes steps to improve its corporate culture, promoting transparency, fairness, and a more forward-thinking vision for the company's future.

Pros

Was able to do many different jobs and learn a bunch of different departments.

Cons

Management is out of touch with reality. Used to be a great company to work for and they truly cared about their people. It is so unprofessional, micro managed, too many middle managers and no one can make a decision to save their life. The stress, political bs is overwhelming. They spend a ton of money on creating programs and then never get to the users. Everyone they have a new CTO it is major disruption and they always bad mouth the last person that was in the seat. Then they go back to what was done 10 years ago.
