Pros

Very rewarding working with individuals and their families.

Cons

Overworked / Under paid. The people we supported used to have "choices"... some of these choices were staff that worked at their house, roommates that lifted their house, and outings and vacations. A lot of these choices have been taken away due to the fact that they lost a large amount of quality, seniority staff. They now employ very young adults who are only there for a paycheck. There were people that gave their heart and soul to the agency and we're just extinguished when they try to voice their opinion.

Pros

Paid training Minimal requirements needed to be hired Meet many different people almost daily A rewarding experience

Cons

Under paid Upper management isn't supportive Too much responsibility on staff Staff have no voice Over worked and under paid HR doesn't want you talking to unions Upper management and higher personell make more than a reasonable amount for a "non profit" company Training can be confusing and stressful due to a few specific individuals teaching the classes
