Sink or swim environment for consultants - Delivery Consultant Lexmark International Employee Review

Pros

It's a pretty fun environment. They have a lot of company functions and free food. People generally seem to be pretty happy. The cafeteria is very nice too.

Cons

It's hard to not feel like just a number. Delivery Consultants are kind of considered the bottom of the food chain. We don't even get a designated desk. They have "hotel stations" which are clusters of desk without file cabinets or drawers that are on a first come first serve basis. It's a place to sit for just that day. It makes you feel even more like just a number. Also, when traveling you are expected to take the very first flight out on Monday morning (5-6am) and the last flight home Thursday, getting home at midnight sometimes. Fridays are always full of meetings that you are expected to be in the office for.

Pros

Interesting work and competent engineers. The office is casual and everyone is very friendly. Management is generally competent and reasonable. Very lax in terms of work-life balance, Lexmark generally trusts their engineers to get tasks completed but don't need you to be there 9-5 M-F.

Cons

Be prepared to survive frequent layoffs.
