Pros

lots of PTO, like many non-profits; your monthly insurance premium is also paid; supportive work environment amidst advocates

Cons

not much room for professional development; little support for POC staff trying to make change around racial equity; not the best hourly rate compared to some other non-profits; some roles are more overworked than others (e.g., SAS advocates tend to have extremely high caseloads)

Pros

Working with survivors and their families.

Cons

Funding can be difficult as a non-profit, which makes financial support for survivors hard.

Pros

Culture is evolving in a very positive way. Things used to be very chaotic and negative but leadership is evolving for the better. I am looking forward to continued positive changes.

Cons

It is incredibly difficult work with a small team.
