Acceptable entry-level/stop-gap job, dead-end in terms of career - Photographer Lifetouch Employee Review

Pros

Acceptable hours (and pay) during busy period of around 1.5 months or so in the fall, and another two to three months in the spring (otherwise a lot of downtime). You show up to a different school basically everyday (refreshing) and photograph the entire student population. You can potentially make some great friends while working here.

Cons

The high turnover rate means that they don't really care about their employees, and certainly do not reward seniority/loyalty. I've seen them cast aside senior photographers in favor of newcomers for no apparent/rational reason. Management is poor and they expect you to work hard for disproportionate compensation; communication with schools is sometimes poor and results in unnecessary hardships.

The culture at Lifetouch is truly unbeatable. The company and it's employees are very passionate about what we do as a whole. Good work/life balance.

Cons

I do feel as though we could look at more ways for people to grow in their career here at Lifetouch.

Pros

Great Sales Team. Remote based position.

Cons

-Losing out to competitors has become acceptable or business as usual. -Management has become out of touch with what is going on in the field. -Outdated Photography equipment. -There is constant turnover with photographers. Difficult to keep good people when they are not paid well & have no structure. -Company is very reactionary. Making cuts seems to always be their answer to solve low profits.
