Pros
I've worked at Lighthouse for close to seven years and have seen it grow substantially in that time, and particularly over the last few years. At its core, Lighthouse is made up of a lot of very smart, motivated, and capable people, and there is an endless amount to learn while working there. Lighthouse is very supportive of internal growth which I have experienced first-hand after making a huge career shift from laboratory technician to software engineer within my first few years. In general, if you are the type of person that is self-motivated, can identify what needs to be done and take it upon yourself to do it, you will be a great asset to Lighthouse and they will help you succeed.
Cons
Management positions tend to be held by members of the original group that started the company 20 years ago. While managers are generally friendly and approachable, many do not have experience (or interest in) leading teams. Senior staff can be cynical and resistant to change, and it can be difficult to have productive conversations about modernizing. Diversity among this group is virtually non-existent, with upper management being almost exclusively male and over 50.
