Cons

Management is pitiful. We went through three area managers in a year and our on-site manager was nothing short of a toddler tyrant. The way the whole office's day would go depended entirely on how they felt when they got into the office. Additionally, I was brought in at a much lower salary than requested and only accepted on a promise of reevaluation at 90 days. I got my reevaluation past the 120 day mark and was given a raise that still did not meet what I had requested upon hire. Or so I thought. My manager assured me that my performance based raise was approved then gave me the runaround about "company-wide freeze on raises right now" for six months until they quit and went back to the state they were originally from. That raise never came through almost a year after it was "approved." I also later found out that they were bringing in new hires in the same role I had been doing for a year longer than them at a rate higher than I had originally requested upon hire but was told "could not be approved by the regional and area managers." (I came into this job with years of retail management experience and years beyond that in customer service. The rate I requested was reasonable and matched the expectation for the level of experience I was bringing to the table.) I was then required to train these individuals. Speaking of which, I also had to train my original manager's replacement (and sign off on whether or not they understood the concepts and could perform the tasks), act as on-site IT support, clean the warehouse, test and clean equipment our service representatives could not or otherwise would not clean, package up said equipment and then help load it on the truck when it shipped out, train the RTs on the system and provide additional support to them and the rest of the office staff as needed...genuinely and truly the list goes on and on. Then, I would be grilled about not completing my other tasks and treated, at times, as if I was doing nothing at all during the workday. I had two of the other managers in my area making me legitimate offers to leave my office and work for them because of the level of work I produced and I was met with virtually zero appreciation from my own management for that work. They truly expect the world and then ask for Jupiter instead when you give them the world. It is my understanding that these issues are exclusive to the office in my city and that truly is a shame because I did enjoy most of my job.
