Pros
- innovative, creative, and collaborative culture -- super high autonomy to share ideas and solutions no matter level of seniority
- genuinely care deeply about my colleagues and feel the same in return. In ~1 year working here have built some very strong working relationships and personal friendships
- Introduction of highly experienced senior management hires has yielded much greater alignment and clarity of strategy
- Relatedly, collaboration and communication across departments has improved dramatically in past 6 months
- Strong feeling of optimism while recognizing the reality of the challenges faced. Feels like we're hitting a "maturing" phase, not just hyper-focused on growth but now more intentionally trying to build a sustainable business, product, and relationships in our industry
- Flexibility of hours and travel opportunities: while hours can be long in crunch-times, our department has grown to the point where we are able to better share load/responsibilities so work life balance has improved. Plus, team is very supportive of using our paid leave -- for example, have loved chances to regularly go to London for work-related events and have been able to tack on vacations/trips almost every time I go which has been good for recharging and staying fresh and motivated
Cons
- high expectations; definitely not a clock-in, cruise, clock-out kind of place. We are constantly solving new and challenging problems, which is exhilarating but definitely challenging (that said, this high effort, while expected, is still consistently rewarded with growth/promotion opportunities)
- Never routine -- relatedly, the days are rarely routine. If you are looking for consistent day to day experience this isn't it.
