Pros

They have a cool office and the Friday lunches are a nice perk. Pay is above market, at least in my position. It's nice to be part of a company that is trying to make a difference in the world, and helping people learn is fun when you actually have time to talk to customers. Coworkers are all friendly and it's exciting to work at such a fast growing company in a competitive industry.

Cons

There are a lot of small annoyances that you find with any company (communication, micromanagement sometimes) but the biggest thing that stands out is the CEO. The first thing I noticed about him was that he seems kind of condescending, but I thought, "hey maybe that's just his personality." It turns out both of these things are true. He loves to make passive aggressive comments and put people down, he often does so in public settings which I find inappropriate for a leader to do. He doesn't handle criticism well and takes everything personally. I don't think he realizes you can give an honest answer without being rude. And when he does this he loves to justify himself by saying "I'm just trying to understand" and acting smug about it. Basically everything hinges on his mood that day. If he's having a good day he is fine but if he's not then he just looks for arguments and ways to criticize peoples' work. The other big con is the long hours and weekends. Some people have families and can't be constantly working, so it's hard to see all the recognition go to people who put in 60 hours a week or cancel their weekend plans to finish a project. This is encouraged by management: Anthony actually framed people working 60 hours as a benefit to customers which is a twisted take on the company values. I think it's really unfair to use their values of helping people learn and "changing lives" to justify this, especially when some of us have families and other things to do besides work.

Pros

Very cool environment. Company gatherings every six months. They left me alone to do my job.

Cons

The company's been sold twice (is now Pluralsite) - I've heard they suck to work for.
