Pros
Flexibility in the department I was in. (I've heard this is not the case at many other departments.) Some people were genuinely nice and will remain friends of mine outside of this job.
Cons
Doing well in your job at Lipscomb is rewarded with much more responsibility and work without pay raises or opportunities to advance. Staff especially are not paid fairly and have no options to move up unless they are able to/want to teach. I've never experienced a work culture where people talked behind each others backs this much, and I heard many offensive things said about women and people of color during my short time at Lipscomb. Boundaries are not respected during vacation time and even after leaving Lipscomb. I would not recommend anyone work here unless they want an uphill battle maintaining their mental health.
