Pros
It's really interesting to see how the company culture has shifted over my time here. We used to be encouraged to voice our concerns or feedback, but there's a growing hesitation in any of that now due to concerns about blow back and being tracked down. So, I guess the only pro's these days are really the heart of the mission and the people you work with if you are lucky enough to work with a solid group.
Cons
Navigating the current company culture feels a bit like walking on eggshells. If we try expressing concerns than we get labeled as not being "on board" or, even worse apparently, a "hater" who can't hack it at a startup (see recent review from a true blue "non hater"). But real talk, the challenges of being understaffed, underpaid, and unimpressed by many things happened are making it tough for many of us to just keep pushing like we used to. While there's a lot of talk from people at this company about needing to be a certain kind of person to survive startups, they all seem to forget that a lot of us have thrived in other environments just like this and done just fine. It's not because you're a startup Literati. It's not even because of the push to profitability. It's because of the culture. It's because the workload is too high. It's because the demands are too much. It's because trust is damaged and it hasn't been built back up. It's because a lot of our co-workers are still looking for jobs months after the 1st lay off and now we're seeing the second round struggle too. We're not immune to any of this just because you want us to me.
