Pros
I joined the agency as a Junior Account Executive and overall had a really positive experience. The team is friendly and supportive, and I was given exposure to a wide range of clients and projects early on, which meant I gained experience much faster than I think I would have elsewhere. The biggest positive for me was the opportunity to learn. There is a strong culture of giving people responsibility and trusting them to get involved. Looking back, the experience I gained here has been invaluable and has helped shape my career. That said, I think it's important for anyone considering joining, particularly if this is your first job, to understand that it is a fast-paced agency environment. The expectations are high from day one and there is a lot to learn in a relatively short period of time. • Supportive and friendly team • Excellent learning opportunities • Exposure to a wide range of clients and sectors • Responsibility from an early stage • Good career development opportunities I personally found the pace challenging at times, particularly in the early months. There were occasions where briefing could have been clearer and some processes weren't always as defined as they could be, which sometimes made it difficult to know exactly what was expected or how to approach a task. The team was always supportive when asked, but in such a busy agency environment there wasn't always time for the level of guidance and hand-holding that someone completely new to the industry might need. However, for someone who is proactive, resilient and willing to ask questions, there is a huge opportunity to develop quickly. Whilst it wasn't always easy, I learned an enormous amount and came away with skills and experience that have been incredibly valuable in later roles. One thing I have reflected on since leaving is that it's only when you move elsewhere that you realise the grass isn't always greener. Every agency has its challenges and, with hindsight, my only real regret is perhaps not sticking it out for longer and being part of driving some of the changes I felt were needed. The business has a lot of good people who genuinely care, and I think that's easy to overlook when you're in the middle of a particularly busy period.
Cons
• Fast-paced environment that can feel intense, particularly as a first job • High expectations from day one • Briefs and processes could sometimes be clearer • Can take time to build confidence and find your feet
