Pros
Working with the young people and building trusting relationships with the service users
Cons
Llamau could be a meaningful and effective organisation, however the management of Llamau are appalling. They are catty, unsupportive and completely inexperienced within a management role which leads to emotions dictating their management style.
I have personally been in attendance at team meetings where high up management made threats and tore down staff who had been doing their best under further poor management.
The mental health of staff is utterly shattered by the management working for Llamau. Project Managers are put into their positions with no experience, no training, and expected to carry the new position of Project Manager along with their old position of Support Worker. Therefore attempting to do two full time jobs at the same time. They then get bullied by higher up management for not doing enough.
Managers higher than Project Managers just get worse. They have zero experience or training in Managerial roles and make emotional calls rather than logical ones.
Bullying and harassment are overlooked by management and the only time any real productive work gets done by them is when an audit is coming up.
They knowingly break employment laws, bully staff, offer no training and allow unprofessional behaviour to go unchecked.
I would avoid working for Llamau at all costs and I hope that one day, the company and, in particular it's "area Managers" and "heads of service" are investigated for their treatment of staff members.
