Three staff at Central office are really nice and helpful. Colleagues are awesome for the most part.

I worked at the middle school for two years. The place has some major safety issues and a "who cares" attitude when asked about it. Many science teachers are in regular classrooms but are still expected to perform labs without standard safety equipment. In my first year, all that they gave me was a fire blanket when we were going to be working with open flame. No sink in the room either, I was told to dump chemicals out of the window. At the start of last year, I go moved in a lab but it was infested with mice. There was rat droppings everywhere that I had to clean myself if I wanted it to get done. When I expressed concerns I was dismissed. I walked into my classroom one day and it smelled like dead animal, when I told the principal about it in the morning he told me I might be smelling a chemical cleaner as if I didn't know the difference between dead animal and ammonia. There were 5 or 6 dead mice in my desk but sure bud. They now called an exterminator to my knowledge. They just put mouse traps and poison out for the mice. They didn't start to care about properly cleaning the mouse dropping until Hantavirus was in the news, but then still allowed children to clean it at the end of the year. Admin is cruel and will choose the words that make you feel the most worthless. They clearly lack HR training.
