Salary, interesting product concepts (although often not so well executed)

The partners (often traditional, non-people centric and impulsive people) are the centre of life at Lombard Odier and dictate your trajectory. This means that pleasing them dictates progression, which creates an unhealthier environmental than merit-based progression as people are competing against each other rather than against the market. This becomes more chaotic where the partners themselves often have differing strategies and act on impulse.
