This is the first place I've ever worked where every single member of the team is smart, thoughtful, and hardworking. I feel challenged to bring my best every day. I'm encouraged to grow and supported when I identify how I want to do so, whether it's through taking a writing class or buying a book or shadowing a teammate. Reading and talking about what's going on in the world is expected of me, rather than something we shy away from. This is a great place if you want to play, learn, and grow.

Not everyone wants a job where they're challenged to bring their best every day! If you are someone who wants a job to simply be a clock in/clock out job, this might not be the place for you. Lost Debate pays higher because of this expectation.

Without a doubt: the most unprofessional working environment I've ever experienced. Framed as "changing the future of journalism" and "combating misinformation and polarization;" ended up just being some guy's podcast. The team was a group of dedicated and talented people who were forced to dance around an abusive CEO's fragile ego to try and get any work done. I would tell folks to avoid this company like the plague, but luckily, that shouldn't be an issue going forward ... in 2022, management started firing folks left and right before imposing layoffs for the majority of the team. The YouTube channel is now completely gone, erasing the work + portfolio of everybody involved. They even "rebranded" as The Branch ... it seems the Debate ended up Lost after all.
