Toxic / Unsafe work environment with high turnover and neglect - resesarcher Lovelace Biomedical Employee Review

Not bad, the environment is great. People are not pushy. The benefits may not be the top (i don't know other companies' details), but they do cover everything.

I don't have a strong negative view of anything here.

Benefits and pay is decent. You work super close with many animals (they are the best part of the job).

Be ready to be overworked. They WILL take advantage of you if you love animals and actually want whats best for them. They reward people who do a crap job with promotions so they won't be on the team anymore, meanwhile if you do-do a good job you're stuck there "because you're so valuable". You won't be trained properly but be ready to take all the blame for getting anything wrong. Supervisors are lazy and will do anything in their power not to do their jobs. They will not accommodate your schedule if you are in school. It sucks and in all honesty I believe they would abuse the animals more if there wasn't so many regulations.
