Pros

None really, I knew I made a mistake within a week of being there. Gutted it out for over a year.

Cons

Very toxic work environment, zero work life balance. The first time meeting my boss in person first words out of her mouth were “F this F’ing place”. There is zero training or career development. You are expected to be on call 24/7. I tried to take 1 vacation and was told I had to be available for shortage calls and other issues. The building we were working out of had mice running around, pooping in our desk drawers and on our keyboards. There were bugs everywhere, and in the dead of summer in Arizona the AC went out. All these issues were brought to HR and they did nothing, said it was an acceptable work environment. I spent a lot of time on what I had achieved and worked on all year, typing out more than 3 pages. My boss had a 2 sentence response. Who they put in management roles have no business being people leaders. They don’t know how to develop a team nor how to run one. They will toss you under the bus to save their own and will never have your back. The lack of professionalism at Lucid blew my mind. Never in my career have I been talked to in such a way or experienced this type of environment, plenty of meetings with Lucid people cursing each other out or suppliers. You can tell they hire just about anyone and it starts with management. I went through 4 bosses one of them only stayed a month (he was actually the best and was professional). The rest were down right terrible. DO NOT APPLY HERE! Your stress level will be off the charts and it will be the most unprofessional environment you’ll ever experience. If I could give zero stars for everything I would. Not one thing I liked working here.

Pros

High pay, good benefits, fully paid parental leave (8 weeks)

Cons

Dishonesty in hiring process and inconsistent schedule: I was told I would be working 4pm to 1AM five days a week, somewhat manageable with a family. They switched my schedule immediately after hiring (before even going to shift) to 5pm to 5Am, then 6pm to 2:30am, then 6pm to 5 am, then back to 5pm to 5am. I never actually worked the schedule they said I would, which really messed up my home life. On top of this, they will expect you to work Saturdays and sometimes sundays on short notice, sometimes on a Friday you’ll find out that you’re working on the weekend, full shifts, 12 hours. The work itself? I felt completely unchallenged. My title was maintenance technician, but I can’t actually think of much real maintenance we did. Recovery technician would be a more accurate job title, and it was dull. I came from a very technical background, expecting very technical work at Lucid, but it ended up being mostly resetting sensors and resetting FANUC robots, then resuming the line. The work culture sucks. Night shift was brutal, the managers (one especially) try very hard to please their superiors at the cost of their relationship with technicians. You will have “one on one” interviews every month where it’s actually two managers interrogating you and letting you know about some vague training plan they have for you, for some of the most menial tasks I’ve ever done in a decade of manufacturing.
