Pros

- Culture is a big thing at Lumen5 and the HR team works really hard to build and support this. There are constantly fun team events and activities for everyone to participate in. - The people that work for Lumen5 are perhaps some of the nicest people you will ever work with. Everyone is down-to-earth, welcoming and friendly (in addition to being very driven and talented)
 - There’s no hierarchy at Lumen5. Members of the leadership team are just like any other colleague and are extremely approachable. They also do a great job at keeping the company in the loop via regular all-hands.
 - Lumen5 offers some great benefits such as unlimited personal days, a monthly lifestyle allowance, any tech we need, a $2000 annual learning budget, donation matching and more. Plus our Spotify and phone bills are covered.
 - Flexible working isn’t just a buzzword at Lumen5. You can wfh or come into the office, it’s up to you. - Side-note: The Lumen5 onboarding experience is well-organized and executed. Upon joining you'll have a ton of support as you get settled.

Cons

- Lumen5 is a start-up so at times things can feel chaotic or change very quickly. - There are still some teething problems whilst the company figures out who they are and what its voice is. (The good news is that this is being worked on!)

Pros

The whole place is growth-oriented! If you want to learn something, or try something new, or get something under your belt, then you can. I have learned a ton of valuable, career-changing skills because I've been given the opportunity here. Everyone is truly so friendly and willing to own their relationships with each other – particularly important when we're all working from home and you can't rely on office chit chat to stay engaged with your coworkers. It's a company culture that didn't happen by accident. Compensation is competitive and very transparent. Education budget is amazing for pursuing skills that help everyone level up. Product is interesting and in an emerging space with lots of customer appetite.

Cons

Things move really fast, and it's only in the last year or so that the company vision and strategy has been set out. You have to be okay taking everything with a grain of salt because there's a lot of internal transparency, so not everything that's shared or discussed is set in stone. Engineering work can sometimes languish due to capacity constraints, which is nothing new to a maturing company but can be frustrating. Both a pro and a con but hiring for new positions or to backfill can take a long time because we want to hire the right people, not just anyone that can fill a seat, so sometimes things have to sit on the shelf for a while.
