Pros
Great staff & flexibility in workday schedule with some departments. I worked here for over a decade with increasing responsibilities. Opportunities you would not have elsewhere come quickly if you are liked. Some incredibly bright faculty and collaboration is possible if you are liked.
Cons
Management tend to believe they know everything, yet show little understanding of basic higher education concepts or leadership.. highest level of management seems to have a frat boy mentality. Seem to follow trends that don’t match the student body because they sound good at the moment versus a long term strategy. Students are nice for the most part but are significantly unprepared (and are unaware of how unprepared they are). If the students come from a higher SES, administration let’s them get away with anything where as other students with lower SES would be dismissed. If you are not liked you will not go farno matter your level of knowledge or expertise. Low pay and very long hours. They will work you until you have nothing left to give. Nepotism is rampant. Admissions let’s in anyone then states it is the remaining universty’s Fault they can’t retain the students despite their very low GPA’s upon entering university. Very territorial between departments and faculty. No one really seems to want to deal with the underlying problems if the solution is too hard, costly or time consuming.
