Pros
Most people are very friendly and professional
Cons
Working here was like taking a step back in time for many reasons. Old systems and processes that desperately need updating. Worst of all, however, is the culture and atmosphere. The department is run by people of the same type (men aged 50+) who create a fearful and tense atmosphere. Many members of staff are fearful of senior leaders, rightly so as they are known to intentionally embarrass their staff, shout and swear at employees and generally create a horrible atmosphere to work in. Employees are not comfortable to report poor behaviour due to the seniority of staff and those that have are told to deal with these individuals themselves. Employees are told they should be grateful they are able to work here - this is emphasised by poor pay, lack of benefits, overtime being expected and being told you must come into the office because the directors like to walk around and see people at their desks.
