Pros
- Because MCF mostly did customization for QuickBase I got to see and experiment with new ways to use QuickBase. - Some of the developers and project coordinators/managers are great and easy to work with. - Some of the management is very knowledgeable - Great stories to tell future employers when asked about difficult situations
Cons
- Work/life balance is non-existent. I regularly worked 50-60 hour work weeks including 9pm meetings and all-day meetings on weekends. - The CEO doesn't appear to care much about the clients. He would openly admit to clients he was doing non-work activities (sometimes loud enough to interrupt the discussions) during meetings. - If you were selected to report to the CEO it meant he wanted you to prove yourself or fire you. You had to endure weekly "I'm not sure this is working out" and "you're not getting it" statements in front of co-workers. - Constant restructuring; I reported to 3 different managers while there. - The client is always right. If the client complained, you would get berated (sometimes in front of other team members) and when you showed proof that the client was wrong, you would get a meek "oh okay."
