Pros
-Generally the people working in the European offices tend to be nice -For a first job after finishing University the pay is nice (though that's mainly due to the low wages in Poland)
Cons
-No training, day one you are told to watch some videos (not particularly helpful) and then immediately start working, you don't really have the time to settle in -A lot of your experience will depend on the journal you are assigned to and your Chinese tutor. Some journals do not have enough editors so you are forced to work more. It can be really difficult to communicate with some Chinese tutors due to the language barrier -You will have to do unpaid overtime (in some cases a lot of it) -No one will care about your opinion, your position is pretty much being a robot -You will be told to meet certain quotas every month, in most cases they are impossible to achieve -The company wants you to be careful and thorough but at the same time will always want you to do more work, they do not realize that rushing your work will lower its quality -Most of the time you will be evaluated on the quantity not quality of your work -Despite the pay being nice it is not nearly enough for the amount of work you will be doing -You are forced to process an absurd amount of manuscripts every month -The workflow is very unoptimized and full of procedures that do not make sense, it makes the whole job very frustrating -You will make mistakes due to your tutors telling you certain things after the fact and they will still blame you -Chinese work culture doesn't work well in Europe To end this on a more personal note this job has started to slowly deteriorate my mental health, bringing anxiety and sleeping troubles with it, I truly cannot recommended it even though the pay is tempting (I know I was tempted by it)
