Pros

Calm atmosphere, very little night and weekend work. Nice office on the top floor of a downtown building in Boston

Cons

LIttle to no upward mobility unless you want to move to Pittsburgh and work for the parent company, Federated Investors

Pros

-The operations team works from 7:30am - 4:00pm. Everyone is gone by 4:01pm. -CFA Reimbursement (up to 2 attempts per exam) -Holiday party

Cons

The company is very much divided between the investment team and everyone else. If you aren't part of the investment team, you're screwed. The pay is low with difficulty in getting raises along with single digit percentage for bonuses, I'm talking as low as $500. The operations team has been halved because HQ didn't want to pay Boston salaries. The management team are pre-acquisition so they have nice cushy salaries and bonuses. They won't do anything to rock the boat since they're all near retirement age. The health insurance is atrocious and god forbid you're a woman at this company. HQ considers itself to be a "religious" company so if you're looking for birth control in your health plan, get ready to pay a lot of money to get it. There is also little opportunity to move up so get the experience you need, maybe take the CFA, and go find something else.
