Pros

MIQ is a flat organization and very entrepreneurial. The sales commissions are uncapped, so if you work hard the pay can be very lucrative. Not everyone succeeds in that type of work environment. The benefits are good and if you want to grow in your career the management is very helpful. The leadership has high integrity and I am able to stand behind what I sell, which is very important to me. I think work-life balance for sales is outstanding.

Cons

Not every office has a great team, there are lots of bright spots around the country, but like any large organization there are weak links. The nature of a logistics company is sometimes you have to control costs, and not all levels of employees are compensated at the highest levels.

Pros

Global company - Room for advancement (for the right people) - Forward thinking - Focused company growth - Decent benefits (insurance, 401K, company picnics/events, appreciation events). Promote from within. Published core values and guiding principles, vision, mission. Great office environment, clean and somewhat new and fresh. Friendly people and team work. Also participate in the annual Kansas City Corporate Challenge. Very competitive and have had much success in the events. Too be honest, I have been with the company many years and overall I am very happy here.

Cons

Lack of accountability - especially many of the managers. Too many of the managers fail to follow-up and also fail to hold "certain" employees accountable (Apparent favoritism). One specific manager spends entirely too much time "in the weeds" and not enough time managing the department and is often unavailable. Even though they have published Core values, etc. there are too many times that even members of the management team may not always "practice what they preach." Some of the managers have a reputation for rehiring employees who have left and then giving them more money to return, rather than keep in the first place. This has a somewhat negative impact on employees who have been loyal and have remained.
