Pros

Being a tour guide at MIT is a lot of fun. You get to help a lot of highschoolers narrow their college decisions, while also being able to escape the MIT bubble for a little while.

Cons

At times it can be stressful when you have a tour and a lot of homework and you must complete both. Though everything I guarantee will work out in the end.

Pros

High quality core facilities and well resourced labs. Countless brilliant colleagues who can serve as mentors and collaborators

Cons

Students and Postdocs are expensive due to high overhead, so unreasonably high productivity is often expected compared to other institutions. PIs are typically stretched very thin. Most departments/labs are very space limited which makes it harder to do safe and productive research.
