Pros
Strong brand name and growing reputation in education sector Exposure to a wide range of marketing and academic projects Talented peers and supportive colleagues in middle and junior roles Good infrastructure and campus facilities Opportunity to work on national campaigns and events
Cons
I worked in the branding and communications department at MIT-WPU. While the institute has strong potential and a growing national profile, the internal management, especially at the director level, leaves much to be desired. The director's leadership style is often rigid, inconsistent, and lacks transparency. Constructive feedback is rarely welcomed, and decisions are frequently driven by personal bias rather than institutional goals. The culture within the department tends to be top-down, with little scope for creative freedom or professional growth. Efforts by the team are frequently undervalued or overlooked, creating a demotivating environment despite hardworking colleagues. Talent retention is a serious issue, and many leave due to management behavior rather than the workload. If the university leadership hopes to keep attracting good talent, it may be time to reassess the internal culture and ensure accountability at the top.
