Don't expect to be congratulated for any of your good work unless you're friends with the CEO. Don't expect to get a raise unless you're friends with the CEO. There is an unfortunate focus from the top of the company on aesthetic as opposed to functionality. Experienced it a few times where improvement projects were shot down because they "didn't look or feel right". There are plenty of reasons why 1/3 of the office staff has left in the last 4 months.
