Pros

The company has a great "work where you want to work" policy. Full freedom of choice to work at home or in the office. Architects who are parents are able to pick up their kids from school and then go back to work when they get back home. We're all responsible to make up lost time and that's where it matters. It's not that often when a project needs to go into overtime with late nights. If your future deadline seems impossible to complete, you can call on other architects from other offices around the country to see if anyone has time to temporarily switch teams for a couple weeks. Lots of social events sponsored by the company.

Cons

Mass layoffs across all architecture firms when the economy and job market is good??? Since a few years ago, MOREgroup decides to buy out all of these architecture firms. It seems great that a lot more firms are now under one ecosystem, until you realize your salary adjustments are no longer decided by people who you work with. Not the managers or directors who work with you on a daily basis, but the higher-higher ups at MOREgroup that have barely spoken a few sentences to you on their unnecessary paid-for flights across the country. On top of that, directors/managers at the offices have less power on what they want to do with the company. After a couple of years of amazing yearly financial reports, MOREgroup SUDDENLY decides to ditch the lower-end architectural designer / architectural associate positions and does a mass layoffs. A lot of great people lost their jobs with the mere fact that MOREgroup doesn't know what they are doing. Is it the CFO's responsibility? Who knows. A lot of people who still work here no longer trusts the company since the company STILL says they are doing great with the tremendous number of projects that keep coming in and financial achievements. It's all an act and great acting performance on their part. If the company is doing great, why lay-off all these architects? Maybe cut down on paid-for appetizers in monthly happy-hour events? Why can't the higher-higher ups save money and stop making dozens of office-to-office across the country flights just to socialize with other offices? Why not stop paying for a free lunch or costly social events. I get these are "Pros", but the fact that you laid off so many people makes us question if you really know how to manage your money. You ruined a lot of people's lives. It is insane that we have a fan merch store where employees can buy MOREgroup hats, jackets, polo shirts, and others. Why aren't these provided for us for free? This isn't a cult.

Flexible work schedule, half day Friday

Cons

“People” (HR) Leadership isn't for the people. It used to be, but new leadership that was brought in has changed the dynamic to “for the company”
