Pros

Great team environment, very interesting and unique work, good work-life balance, fun staff activities, and really good benefits.

Cons

Management has lost sight of why ALL employees, not just technical staff, are important for the success of the company. Employee morale has been extremely low particularly over the last year. I had been quite unhappy with how things were being managed, largely due to a serious lack of strong leadership.

Pros

It has truly been an honor working alongside incredibly bright peers in this mission-driven organization over the past several years. MRIGlobal attracts thoughtful, talented scientists, engineers, and professionals who genuinely care about making an impact. The average tenure is close to seven years, which really speaks to the culture and commitment of the people here. I’ve appreciated the opportunity to work on a wide variety of meaningful projects and collaborate with colleagues across disciplines. The team culture is grounded in purpose. Being an independent scientific institute is not an easy business model, yet the organization has successfully navigated more than 75 years of history. That kind of longevity reflects meaningful impact and an ability to adapt over time. The benefits are also a standout. There has been careful consideration to offer Benefits that makes a real difference in employees' lives. There have been no premium increases to the High Deductible Health Plan in the past several years, while many other organizations are navigating double-digit annual increases (they also offer PPO and EPO Spira Care plans). The retirement program is very competitive and thoughtfully designed, and it has made a meaningful difference in my long-term savings. In addition to traditional benefits like dental, vision, life insurance, legal, there are also programs that make everyday life easier, like gym reimbursement, perks discounts, identity theft protection, and more. For those considering further education, the Tuition Reimbursement program is another very strong offering.

Cons

Like many independent nonprofits, resources can be tight and priorities must be carefully managed. Navigating cycles requires resilience and adaptability.

Pros

Experience and learning opportunities dependent on department

Cons

There is NO upward mobility. They will delay your promotion by 1-3 because they do not want to pay you.
