Pros
- Fast-paced environment which keeps you on your toes from contracting work to permanent recruitment opportunities if you have what it takes to put the work in. If you're here just for the money, you're doing the wrong job but if you've the drive and want to push yourself further than you have before this is absolutely the place for you to be nurtured and to grow into.
- MD, GOD, and CEO are always open to communicate with, straight down the line, open and honest communication is always appreciated by them. If you come to them with a problem and only complain about it with no interest in solving the problem yourself, you'll get nowhere here. However if you come with a problem and a solution or ASK for advice on a solution they will absolutely work with you to either figure out the solution, provide insight from a different perspective and their combined 60 years + of experience or approve the solution you've provided.
- MD is the work place hype man, you can bet your bottom dollar if the room feels quiet he will walk around and talk to each of the consultants, speaking with them about what they're doing and if he can help at all. MD is incredibly gracious with his time and will always make time for you regardless of what he already has on his plate. Works to people abilities, if there is something that an individual is struggling to wrap their head around he will absolutely take the time out to work with and communicate with you in a way that keeps you working to your best - an invaluable and hugely appreciated trait that has strengthened not just our professional relationship but professional relations across the entire company. It's also very refreshing to come across someone who actually cares about their staff and they way he willingly gives his time to help nurture your strengths is incredibly refreshing and something more MDs and c suites should take note of.
- CEO is an authentic, honest, open, and genuine individual who, in my opinion, is incredibly generous with his staff, time, and expertise. CEO always wants his team to be winning be it individually and as a company and is always striving to provide the best tools he can get for the company to use and make use of. Straight forward, no faffing about individual who the entire company respects.
- Socials every quarter that are heartfelt and does truly bring the company together, especially in games as, naturally, recruiters are competitive as heck so games, food and some drinks always go down well of which is graciously accommodated by the CEO.
- Colleagues here actually care for each other and want to see the other win all the time. If you have a question, there will always be someone in the room with an answer for you or someone who can provide a different perspective that you might not have thought about. The Consultants here are the first to help you grow by giving you tips on resourcing, to conversations being had with clients and how they might do certain things a different way and this is all done in a non-condescending way because genuinely, they want you to win as much as you want them to win and that personally is invaluable within a professional team.
- MRL has and will always do all they can to provide you with the right foundational blocks of setting up your career with MRL and beyond: the company is constantly looking at ways to help their consultants achieve the best results with the least amount of admin work possible, to achieve results and provide awards for those results and encourages growth, new ideas and how they can do more for us as a company.
Cons
- Lack of communication in the past has been an issue, however MRL recognised this and have stepped up their game to keep the transparency 100% about what is happening with the business and its future since the last quarter.
- Consultants need to learn to be frank, open and honest to management about how they're truly feeling about their roles within the business. If they had the same levels of transparency that they demand in previous years from management it's only fair they reciprocate this in turn. If you don't ask or talk, you don't get or get to complain about it.
