Pros
I have a medically complex child, and when he needed wheelchair transport after hospitalization I found MTM and utilized this service for him and when I found out they were hiring I jumped on the opportunity as I found a passion for helping others that need NEMT services. It really makes my day when I’m able to assist another family in the same predicament I was in, in needing para lift for my son and not being able to afford a wheelchair accessible van myself. I’m so grateful for NEMT and to work for them. The flexibility I have now being able to work from home has been a huge help to my family. I see a lot of opportunities to advance here aswell and see so many promoted from within. When I have a call and the member or social worker comments on how this was time calling it was absolutely wonderful it really makes my day.
Cons
The only con I would say there is, is sometimes PTO not being able to be approved and since I have a medically complex child these appointments are of the utmost importance and I can’t reschedule them as they are with specialist and it would be many months to get back in then and this is how his medical management care is upheld. But with many work places this is the case as being a caregiver for a fragile and or medically complex child finding a workplace to help support this is and keep business needs in place is hard.i hope I don’t have to bite the bullet and take attendance points if this happens for one of his appointments.
