Pros

Worked with some of the best international clients in media and tech including Google, BBC, Disney, Amazon, Audible etc.; offered opportunities to travel and moderate / speak at conferences around the world; learnt from experts in their field; provided space and room to grow; encouraged to bring full self to work always.

Cons

Can be hectic (as any small consultancy can be), pay is not industry-leading but still good.

Pros

I joined MTM because I wanted to work closely with Jon because I admired his energy and enthusiasm and I thought I could add my social media knowledge to the company's research offering. As it was I spent most time working with Rich on strategy consulting. I learnt some core skills that have transformed my career. I now work in a senior role in local government and use told and techniques that I learnt at MTM on a daily basis. It was hard work. I've never worked anywhere before where I was simply unable to work harder than anyone else. The Directors led by example. It's very good at hiring and the tough process means it gets some really good, bright young people. That means there's a freshness and energy to the culture.

Cons

As with any small company it's so client focused that it doesn't always have the capacity to focus on developing IP or working on company stuff. But that's also an opportunity for anyone ambitious who wants to think beyond their role and make a bigger contribution. Formal training and development didn't really happen but Directors are willing to work intensively to show you what they want and tell you why.
