Pros

The only silver lining was my immediate manager, who allowed me to work independently and without unnecessary interference. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end.

Cons

The company culture is deeply toxic and hostile. Micromanagement is extreme. You’re monitored by CCTV, your devices are accessed without warning, and even being a minute late is treated like a punishable offense. Boundaries are non-existent. You’re expected to be available at all times, and refusal to comply is frowned upon, if not used against you. While I personally didn’t allow myself to be affected by this, it’s clearly part of the environment. Team culture is virtually nonexistent. Feedback is not welcomed and is often taken as a personal attack. Upper management regularly uses foul language with junior staff. Constructive dialogue is impossible when intimidation and egotism dominate leadership. The owner appears to care, but is completely disconnected from the day-to-day reality. Senior management is allowed to behave however they please, with no checks or accountability. HR is powerless and is nothing but a mouthpiece for leadership. Favouritism runs deep. If you’re not in the good graces of a select few in upper management, your time at the company is likely to be short-lived. Or made increasingly difficult until you’re pushed out. There have been numerous unjust firings. I personally know at least five employees who were terminated abruptly with no clear explanation. Very few people make it past the six-month probation period. I was ultimately forced out as well, a common tactic used to remove those who don’t conform to the toxic hierarchy. There is no recognition for hard work, no overtime policy despite regularly being expected to work extra hours, and no clear or consistent job description. What you're hired to do often changes post-joining, with no clarity or consent. In some cases, people are recruited under a specific designation only to find themselves doing an entirely different job once they start.

MX Business Network Response

In the interest of transparency and fairness, we wish to clarify the circumstances surrounding a recent termination. The individual in question was dismissed following the discovery of substantiated evidence that they were simultaneously employed by a direct competitor while still on our payroll. This represented a serious breach of trust and a clear conflict of interest, leaving us no choice but to take appropriate disciplinary action in accordance with our internal policies. We categorically deny any suggestion that this decision was influenced by company culture or personal grievances. The action taken was based solely on professional misconduct, and we stand by our commitment to the values of integrity, transparency, and accountability. Upholding these principles is essential to maintaining a fair and ethical environment for all employees and stakeholders. It is unfortunate that the situation is being misrepresented, with unfounded allegations and an attempt to portray the dismissal as unjust. While we will not engage in personal attacks or public disputes, we emphasize our dedication to respectful and principled conduct in all matters. We trust this incident underscores the importance of professionalism, ethical behavior, and accountability in the workplace.
