Pros

CEO and Senior upper management are down to earth and pleasant to be around. Company has solid history and pay is decent. Most upper management (on third floor) are great to work with and are very cordial. Dealing with branches was almost always a pleasant experience.

Cons

CEO, Sutton, is out of touch with the employees. Most employees, unfortunately, have been unhappy in the last 1-2 years and most are looking for a way out. Some of these employees have been with the company 10+ years. The morale in certain departments is at an all time low. There are certain managers that treat employees with little dignity and as if they are well beneath them. There is no where to air grievances outside of going straight to the top, which is highly frowned upon, as there is no department that will listen to non-management employees . The choice for employees if to stick it out and put up with being talked down to or get out. Quarterly Bonuses are low when compared to the work flow and annual bonuses of Upper Management.

Pros

The lower level employees actually doing the work and unlimited PTO

Cons

My experience at Mac Papers & Packaging in the Jacksonville location was unfortunately very disappointing. The overall management culture is problematic. Entry-level employees are frequently spoken down to, not listened to, and not treated with basic professional respect. There is a strong sense of micromanagement, and employees are often treated more like children than trusted professionals. Communication lacks transparency, and promises made to employees are not always honored. One particularly concerning practice is the use of “temp-to-permanent” hiring. Employees are kept in temporary status far longer than implied during hiring, with permanent placement often only occurring after an employee threatens to leave. This creates unnecessary stress and insecurity for workers who are trying to build stability. The physical working environment is also an issue. The workspace is cramped, uncomfortable, and not conducive to productivity. Combined with the management approach, this contributes to what I would describe as a very toxic work environment. Compensation does not align with expectations or workload, and the benefits are expensive while offering minimal value. Overall, employees are asked to give a lot without receiving much support, respect, or growth opportunity in return. I would not recommend this location to anyone seeking a healthy workplace culture, professional development, or long-term stability.
