Pros

Magellan provides a great outside view of what they used to be like as a company, unfortunately those days are long gone Great product ideas, very poor execution Finance - driven company No accountability Very process driven culture, where new and creative ideas outside of system just die Meetings and conference calls that never start on time Low salaries

Cons

Company will push new products into market before testing them to make sure they work correctly leading to high return rates. Contentious conference calls and meetings Constant blaming internal groups instead of fixing the broken system Crazy work hours, since they are a Taiwanese Company, it's late nights and early mornings to speak to head office No salary increase, bonus or COLA last 4 years

Pros

You can work in one of the hottest product categories in consumer electronics. This makes it possible to be involved in "what's next".

Cons

Management can't see the true opportunities or a successful differentiated business model from what other competitors are doing. Most who work in managment are consumer electronics job jumpers who have never really had to come up with something novel on their own. As a result, most steer the company down the same paths as a dozen other industries. This has lead the company away from high margin, low competition markets to low margin, high competition markets. The problem is that the latest direction doesn't make any money. They can't figure out why and what to do next.
