Pros

Competitive pay for tech roles, lots autonomy if you are capable and get tasks completed in a timely manner

Cons

Management has been changing the last 5 years. That brought in a lot of new VPS and directors. Hard to judge where the company is heading and there's been frequent. Layoffs. Raises barely cover cost of living for the last 7 years. No performance based raises for ICs. Confusion amongst management as new senior leaders trickle in and out make planning long-term projects difficult and expectation of raises or even a job unlikely. Very low expectation for promotion.

Pros

Ability to work with FAANG company with opportunity for transition to FTE. Very responsive team to any questions.

Cons

Contract work, so role may or may not be renewed depending on company needs. Not really a con, just the nature of the job. Very few PTO days.

Pros

They pay you regularly - that is about it

Cons

They are only interested in their own bottom line and explained nothing to me when I was brought in by their client for a contract but needed to be paid and actually employed via Magnit. They employed me as a W2 and I didn't realize it was an option to go in as a contract 1099 - which would have increase my net significantly, since I have an LLC set up and have been doing taxes as self employed for several years. They didn't let me know that I should be on benefits and sent me no paperwork to enroll. The amount of money they saved from me not collecting benefits is terrible along with what I was paying for healthcare etc. I have to leave the client early because of the issues with Magnit even though they would like me to stay for an additional year.
