Pros

The company’s mission and wraparound care model have the potential to provide meaningful support to families. Many employees genuinely care about patients and work hard to provide quality service despite ongoing operational challenges.

Cons

One of the most concerning aspects of the organization involved patient billing practices. Patients were sometimes unaware of potential out-of-pocket costs until after services had already been provided. While disclosures may have existed during online registration, staff were discouraged from proactively discussing these charges beforehand. This frequently resulted in patients receiving unexpected bills ranging from approximately $100 to $300 and feeling misled. From an employee perspective, this created ethical concerns and damaged trust between patients and the organization. Leadership and organizational management were significant concerns during my time at the company. Decisions were often made with little planning and implemented at the last minute, creating confusion for providers, coordinators, and patients. Changes to schedules, workflows, and appointments frequently occurred without sufficient notice, leaving frontline staff responsible for managing patient frustration and resolving issues they had no role in creating. Communication from leadership could be inconsistent and, at times, unprofessional. Tension and disagreements among executives and managers were often visible to staff, contributing to a stressful and uncomfortable work environment. The company experienced multiple rounds of layoffs that appeared to stem from poor financial and operational planning. Employees were hired into roles without adequate infrastructure or workspace, only to later face uncertainty regarding job security. The most recent layoffs significantly impacted patient care and left employees feeling disposable, particularly when notifications were handled abruptly.

Pros

This is one company that is truly changing the world as we know it. Mahmee creates true value to mothers and babies and the system. CEO is incredibly smart and dedicated, and entire team and staff are all highly experienced, world-class and they have a focus unlike anywhere else.

Cons

Like a rocket ship, the company is quickly growing from a startup to a corporation, so things move fast and folks should know they have to learn and move quickly.

Pros

Was very busy at times and easy to see lots of pts, until they cut hours that is. Lots of appreciative patients who were grateful for the support offered. There was also one LC behind the scenes who was amazing on the learning/teaching side of things. That's the end of the pros, the cons definitely outweighed any of that though.

Cons

Incessant bullying and unwarranted second guessing by leadership and a manager, who frankly, should NOT be a manager. And this is specifically the manager LC and not the co-founder LC. Constantly changing policies on a whim with impossible expectations and nitpicky, but in a hypocritical way. Rules for thee, but not for me! Finish your chart in under 30 minutes, but mine shall stay open for weeks on end, ha ha! Also soo many lies told by her to cover up her own ineptitude, mistakes and many failures. She constantly forgot to finish charts, reach out to providers or call patients back but somehow always found someone else to blame (ie the LCs under her). Not to mention her messing up the schedule, forgetting to call people off work till the last second, or not communicating AT ALL and being shocked LCs didn't know they were expected to be working that day. Worst of all is that leadership, it seems, is intentionally turning a blind eye? How this company is still afloat is shocking and it would be fascinating if it wasn't so sad. There was also an unspoken expectation that you would work throughout lunch breaks or chart via speech-to-text while driving, which is ridiculous.
